Snoring

Snoring is a vibration of the respiratory structures due to obstructed air flow during breathing while sleeping. Causes for snoring include: weak throat musculature, jaw mal-positioning due to weak facial muscles, fat around the throat, nasal airway blockage, and obstructive sleep apnea .

Side effects include: sleep deprivation of those around the sufferer, day-time drowsinessm irritability, inability to focus, decreased libido, psychological and social damages to sufferers.

Treatment includes: weight loss, smoking cessation, sleeping on one's side, and the use of a snore guard to move the mandible forward. Snore guards can be done in our office.
